Recently we have seen more funny people venturing into the stand-up comedy industry. Standup comedy in Botswana is also gradually becoming an alternative form of entertainment.

On Friday, July 4 Tender Laughter Crew in conjunction with Troopers basketball team organised a comedy show featuring five local comics.

Troopers Basketball team coach, William Nyangu said the comedy night was meant to raise funds for the team in order to participate at the Africa club championships cup, saying the team needed over P50 000.

Nonetheless, it was a breath taking show, the likes of Thulani Tau portrayed amazing talent, as he was really funny and knows his thing best. With his humorous lines, he made everyone laugh throughout his stage time.

Fluently speaking the queen’s language, Thulani’s jokes were mainly sex explicit, homosexuality, politics and general staff happen in the society.

Thulani cracked everyone in the audience when he made a joke about water shortage in the country, where by a friend visited him and Thulani’s mother asked the friend what he would like to drink, the friend demanded water, the mother suddenly became furious with Thulani saying, “Thulani, I told you not to bring people of expensive tastes to my house, ga gona metsi mo Botswana.”

Other funny men included Bambino, Panashe Santos and Charles Manase who also did not disappoint. ENDS
