07 Jul 2014

Kebadile Wasenda, known as Kay Bee is music circles, recently released her second gospel album titled “Wuparo.”

The album, whose title means “life”, is a mixture of contemporary gospel music, rap and soul. The songs in the album are sung in different languages, among them English, Shona and Simbukushu.

Kay Bee’s album was produced and mastered by Oscar Chamba and Bless Mchenga and managed by Julius Motaung in Zimbabwe. The album has nine tracks that feature a number of local artists.

Track number three, “Lorato” features rapper Tha MVP. It’s a song about how Jesus loved his people so much that he was willing to die for them.

Songs like “I belong to you” and “I will live for you” offer a soothing and tender melody for gospel fanatics. Kay Bee said Wuparo was her second album, inspired by the word of God. The album premiered early July and has received positive feedback from local media and radio stations.

Kay Bee said she infused her music with urban flavas and genres like hip hop because she wants to spread the gospel to young Batswana.

The gospel singer graduated from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology with a BSc (HONS) in Electronic Commerce last year and she is currently employed by Mascom.

When she is not writing her own songs, Kay Bee is usually embroiled in Hill Song’s soulful music. She is also an avid traveller.

“I strongly believe that the word of God should be spread through song with different and authentic rhythms,” she said. ENDS
