Msotto releases debut album

18 Jun 2014

It is hardly ever a secret in music circles that the producer to go to for a well laid down album with banging beats is BK Proctor, and it is no surprise that with his debut album, Badisa Gaetwesepe contracted the sought after producer for his own personal session.

Born 25 years ago and raised in Old Naledi, the young lad, known as Msotto on stage, always had a thing for music when growing up and went on to study sound and music engineering at the University of Limkokwing and Creative Technology in Gaborone.

“It is not the first time that I am working with BK Proctor. I was discovered by him back in 2010 and went on to lay a verse in his I am Kwaito mixtape that was released the same year and had big name artistes like Vee, T.H.A.BO and T-Izzy among others,” he said in an interview.

Fast forward to 2014, and the young man from Old Naledi has his own album and it is a 10-track album.

“The album is titled Inja Yase Zola and was produced by BK Proctor of Basement Records, Lexbeats of Drumsonic Studio and myself at IYZ Entertainment,” said Mosotto.

The lead single of the album is Mapantsula and has been receiving massive airplay on local radio stations.

Speaking on his company IYZ Entertainment, Msotto said his company produces, publishes, markets and distributes music.

“I founded this company right after I finished school and it has been doing well besides everything else,” he said, adding that his company is also involved in artiste management and discovering new talent.

The album has catchy beats and the signature BK Proctor element in it, but the only downside to it is the artiste using the Zulu language for the majority of his lyrics and one sometimes battles to make out what is being said in the songs. ENDS
