16 Jun 2014
Molepolole Chief Magistrate Faith Dlamini N’gandu will, July 26, deliver judgement in a case in which a 42-year-old Kenyan widower allegedly raped his 15-year-old step daughter at Magokotswane ward in Molepolole.
The accused, Francis Juno, was said to have, on the night of June 9, had carnal knowledge of the teenager after he found her watching television at their rented home.
He pleaded guilty to a single count of rape, the offence he committed three weeks following the death of his Motswana wife who was buried May 31.
Magistrate Dlamini N’gandu denied him bail and was ordered to appear again to hear his fate where the prosecution would also produce his previous convictions.
Magistrate Dlamini N’gandu also ordered the prosecutor, Sub Inspector Tshiamo Montshiwa to consult with the department of social work to ensure immediate counseling to the victim and her siblings. ENDS
