Police in Sikwane have arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with the murder of a 37-year-old man of Dikgokonnye cattle post.

Speaking in an interview, station commander, Superintendent Elias Malope said they were alerted about the incident by a certain man from Malolwane on June 4. He said when they arrived at the scene, they found that a 37-year-old man has been shot with a gun.

Supt Malope said they went searching for the culprit who escaped after the incident and later arrested him. He said the man was arraigned before Mochudi Magistrate Court on murder charges.

Supt Malope expressed worry at the increasing number of murder cases around Malolwane. He said ever since 2008, they registered five murder cases adding that this was a worrisome trend . He further implored Batswana to desist from taking other people’s lives but rather find amicable ways of resolving disputes. Ends
