Veterinary loses P21 000 to thieves

Police in Lobatse are investigating an incident in which Department of Veterinary Services was broken into and P21 000 cash stolen after blasting the cash save.

Station commander, Superintendent Loeto Ramabokwa said the incident was reported on May 30 and it was suspected that the theft occurred late hours of May 29. “We have no suspects and have not made any arrests yet” he said.

Superintendent Ramabokwa pled with members of the public to assist them with any information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, Supt Ramabokwa reported that a goods train on transit from South Africa conveying cement, petrol and diesel derailed and overturned near Lobatse on May 29.  The cause of the accident is still unknown and no injuries were reported.

He said police werealso investigating a rape case against a minor girl by a young man of Thema on May 31. The suspect is allegedly known to the victim.

He appealed to members of the public to always report such incidents to law enforcement officers so victims could be taken for counselling. ENDS
