Fashion house hosts cake competition

My Only One Fashion House will stage a free fun day dubbed First Craft Market Cake Competition on Saturday, May 31.
The event scheduled for the craft market in Broadhurst would showcase different activities such as fashion show, cake-making, as well entertainment like jumping castles, face paintings and sketch plays.
Jelena Ivancevic, founder of the Only One Fashion House and event organiser said a lot of people thought cake-making was simple but it required art, skill and techniques hence there were cake-making schools.
When explaining the requirements for the competition, she said it was open to all age groups and cultures so as to have a wide range of competitors with different ideas of their interpretation of the theme.
Also, there would be a wide range of prices to be won by the competitors and vouchers would be inclusive in these prices.
“The fashion show will be showcasing clothes by different designers locally from different cultures and for a wide range of body sizes and situations, like pregnant women,” she said.
She explained that her main motive was to promote local designers and make Batswana aware of the talent that they had in the country so that they learn how to appreciate and embrace it.
Jelena was hopeful that there would be a great turn up because thus far she has many people registered for the event.
The registration fee was P30 that would be given to a charity house and there would be three different judges from different countries so that the judgment was not biased.
Meanwhile, the founder of My Only One Fashion House, Jelena said she focuses on designing local unique clothes adding that she was tired of wearing the same clothes. My Only One Fashion House has been operating for the past two months. ENDS
