A young Motswana entrepreneur, Thato Mokgadi, premiered her Autumn/Winter collection, dubbed Dare to be you, or #DTBY on Wednesday, April 30 in Gaborone.

Her design Label, Thato@WHIZ had partnered with Samsung Botswana to launch the Samsung NX Mini Camera for the first time in Botswana and in Africa for that matter.

The Thato@WHIZ Fashion Show is a bi-annual event held at the beginning of each of the two Fashion seasons, Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter.

The label was founded by the modest trendy Thato Mokgadi in 2002, and has been part of different fashion shows including the Gaborone Fashion week, international shows like the Fashion Business Angola and Color in the dessert.

In addition, the collection spoke to a celebration of the unique, individual style of the young Motswana who aspires to make a name for herself and earn a reputation for both passion and professionalism.

Thato@WHIZ collaboration with Samsung made a fashion statement as fashion and technology collided in the perfect union.

Dare to be you, Dare to be Different and Dare to Be Bold!, screamed out from her designs when models walked the ramp in a high fashion manner with an exuberant view on top of stools, like a master pierce art displayed in a museum.

Her designs depicted a stylish, hip look, yet sophisticated and incorporated with some African zest of earthy prints, greys, silk materials and cape designs appreciated by a dash of African prints.

Mokgadi also launched the men’s line which she says was an inspiration from her husband, because she believes Dare to be you is a line that can take one from the office to every aspect of life.

“The Stylishly, slim and yet boasting a number of features and specifications that make for a perfect fit for both the young, technology savvy individual or the average person on the go keen to have a bit of fun with technology that has been designed to be playful,” said Samsung Botswana’s key account manager Topollo Pilane.

She thrives ffrom innovation and creativity through her clothes just like the Samsung NX Mini Camera which is stylish, slim, and light, serves as the perfect fashion accessory to girls who dare to be themselves and rock it at any time and given occasion.

The Thato@WHIZ fashion show, powered by Samsung, was the perfect example of simplicity, class, sophistication and a power of fashion and technology to excite and take the fashion industry to greater heights. ENDS
