Mazganda.com poised to set Zambia alight

15 Apr 2014

Renowned Francistown-based guitar band, Mazganda.com plans to take Zambia by storm during the upcoming Easter holidays.

The band is scheduled to perform a live band session at Jindo Club in Mongo. One of the band`s guitarists, Tebogo Nkadile said they had been invited to the performance by a Zambian promoter who saw their live performance during the President Day’s competition final where they attained position two.

He said they would be sharing the stage with another band from Zambia which has a huge following and they will be joined by DJs to spice up the night.

Nkadile stated that they will ensure that they live up to the expectations and intend to leave a longer lasting impact on Mpaxanga dance in Zambia.

Since it will be a whole night performance, they expected to perform 12 songs and this would be a huge task for them because normally, they performed two songs during events due to restricted time schedule for clubs and entertainment spots locally.

He explained that the main reason they have embraced the invitation is to benchmark and network with promoters who may later market their music to a wider market.

“Who knows what may come from this tour. This may be the door that unlocks opportunities that may change our lives for good and take this band far,” he stated.

For his part, the band`s second guitarist, Chilume Mbengwa, said due to the positive response they receive in Francistown, their confidence has grown in leaps and they can only assure those in Zambia that, it was going to be a thrilling night.

“Those in Zambia can only expect a show that will remain in them for a long time and we hope to give them the best of our ability and leave them begging for more,” he stated.

To their diehard fans in Francistown, he said they should not think they have been robbed of entertainment over the Easter holidays.

“Someone might think that leaving for Zambia to perform during the holidays has robbed the city the euphoria of the holidays. This is not so, as this will be a learning curve for us and later we will use the experience to entertain hordes of fans in our entire country,” he explained.
