Gumare police are holding a 24-year-old woman of Etsha 2 in connection with the deaths of two people.

In an interview, station commander, Superintendent Ogaufi George said the incident occurred recently at the fields. He said the police suspected that, following a misunderstanding, the woman assaulted her mother and a three-year old child belonging to the suspect's elder sister.

Supt George said the woman later went to Etsha police claiming that she was attacked by some strangers, but confessed to murdering the two people.

The bodies of the deceased are at Gumare Primary Hospital awaiting postmortem while their names were withheld until their next of kin had been informed.

Supt George appealed to the public to always seek help from social workers, dikgosi and other village elders instead of resorting to violence. ENDS
