Employee finds dead body in rubbish bin

Maun police are investigating an incident in which a dead baby was found in a rubbish bin in front of one of the buildings behind Maun Airport.
In an interview, Superintendent Kenanao Badumetse said the body was found by one of the employees of a company engaged to collect garbage. Supt Badumetse said the body was wrapped in a plastic bag.
The body was taken to Letsholathebe Memorial hospital and was certified dead. Police are waiting for a postmortem report from the hospital to determine their next step.
Supt Badumetse said they have embarked on a search for a woman who could have thrown the baby into the dustbin and pleaded with the public to assist them. Ends
