Armed robbers steal P4 000

02 Apr 2014

Robbers pounced on the manager of Meadowlands retail shop in Mochudi  on March 28 and dispossessed him off P4 000 cash.

Assistant Superintendent Wazha Zambezi said the 28-year-old manager reported a robbery incident, saying he was attacked by four men on Friday at around 10pm.

He said the shop manager was just arriving home from work when armed robbers stormed the car he was travelling in and demanded cash. They later ran away with P4 000 and keys to both the car and the shop.

Asst Supt Wazha said the man and his companions were attacked by robbers when they stopped to open the gate. He said the robbers, who were travelling in a Toyota Corolla, stormed the shop manager’s car armed with guns and demanded money. He said fortunately no one was injured during the incident.

He added that the car in which the robbers were travelling had no number plates which made it difficult to identify it and pleaded with Batswana to help with information that could lead to the arrest of the robbers.

He also cautioned the business community to be on alert as they are a prime target for robbers. He further advised them to deposit their money into the bank and not keep it at home.  BOPA
