Gase launches gospel album

Gase Sikwa is no stranger to the music industry.

First of all music is his passion. Then he is a loyal supporter of various artists. And it has always been a dream for him to capture the hearts of many Batswana with his melodious voice.

And so it was on March 25 when he launched his debut album in Gaborone. Among the many who attended the listening session was the Assistant Minister of Trade and Industry, Keletso Rakhudu.

Rakhudu said artistes such as Gase were an example that Batswana could produce exportable talent. Gospel, which is the genre Sikwa chose had the largest Southern Africa and a good musician of his caliber could do well, said the assistant minister.

He said artistes should empower themselves and go the extra mile as they participate in the economy, create employment and wealth for themselves and the country as a whole. “The creative industry is one that diversifies the economy because it is full of self-reliant and spontaneous people”, he said.

The debut album is titled Manthulathulane and it is an eight track album, which he said inspired him through life experiences that the Lord was more powerful than the devil. The album has a mixture of traditional Pentecostal church songs, to jamming contemporary ones.

Gase’s inspiration was to send a message out that all things are possible with God. The album caters for all gospel enthusiasts. For his part, Gase said his album would strengthen his career as an artiste and as a Christian.

He said it was not easy for him as he encountered among which was lack of time as he only does music part time. The album has different gospel songs for all age groups and it is a must have for all those who love gospel music.

It is diverse and attracts different age groups and can be played in every occasion from weddings, to gatherings to parties. Ends
