Re a Nyalana Association promotes marriage

An official from Re a Nyalana Association says eligible people should get married because that will be for the good of their children, especially when one of the partners dies.
Addressing residents of Moshupa recently, Mr David Morwaagole said Re a Nyalana Association, a grouping that promoted the marriage institution, encouraged people to marry, not only for the good of the partners, but that of the children as well.
Children deserved biological parents who should be responsible for their upkeep, he said, adding that, “marriage does not only bring proper and decent life to partners, it also ensures that children enjoy the benefits and the best they deserve from their parents.”
The marriage promoter, who is the association’s technical advisor, further said marriage ensured that one led a dignified life.
He underscored the importance of uncles, parents and close relatives in their children’s plans to marry, saying parents should know who, where, how and when their children intended to marry.
He urged Batswana to marry instead of cohabiting and having out-of-wedlock children. He noted that it was now easy to get a marriage certificate from traditional kgotlas.
In his welcome remarks, Kgosi Oscar Mosielele of Moshupa commended Re a Nayalana Association for their creative thinking, saying such a drive would ensure that those who were unable to marry would have the opportunity to do so at traditional kgotlas.
He said the association would discourage cohabitation and bring together partners who had long wished to tie the knot.
Residents applauded Re a Nyalana for having come up with such assistance, saying it would help those who have long dreamt to marry. ENDS
