Tertiary entities market services

09 Mar 2014

Education in the North West District is a challenge because the area is far from services, which makes it difficult for learners to access resources without travelling to Gaborone, hundreds of kilometres away.

The regional education director, Mr Acronews Maseko, said however that the North West District had potential to improve its standards of education. “We are blessed because education has come to seek us today,” he said at the tertiary road show.

“The road show will inspire, motivate students, teachers and parents on the benefits of education that are already available.” Mr Maseko said the road show would give students an opportunity to appreciate services offered by different organisations under tertiary education and be a position to make informed decisions.

He said two students from Maun Senior Secondary School did well in the form five examinations. One of the students, Ramasu Ramasu got seven A* and the other one, Leano Mathaeo got 4A*

The school head, Mr Mange Mafoko, said the performance of Maun Secondary School improved because 40 students attained 45 points in the 2013 form five results. The theme of the road show was A gateway to realizing your potential and shaping your future.Ends
