Police introduce point of sale machines
06 Mar 2014
The Botswana Police Service has introduced point of sale machines for payments at selected police stations across the country.
A press release from the police stated that the machines had been installed in 28 police stations around the country including those in cities and major villages.
The release also indicated that the point of sale machines would enable members of the public to make payments by swiping their ATM cards where the service would have been installed.
The point of sale machines will be rolled out to other police stations in future. The release further states that the service is available at the police stations from 0730hrs to 1630hrs during weekends.
The facility was expected to provide convenience for customers to pay for police reports, traffic fines, and other offences where a person had been offered to pay an admission of guilt fine. Conventional methods of payment will continue to apply where point of sale machines are unavailable. Ends
