Jwaneng gears for mining expo
05 Mar 2014
Jwaneng will host a mining and technical expo on March 13.
The event is expected to attract a variety of exhibitors who deal with innovations, new technology and mining software, among others. Around 27 companies from Southern Africa have already booked to exhibit at the high profile event.
Responding to a BOPA questionnaire, the operations manager for mining and technical exhibitions (MTE), Mr Andrew Macnamara said the organisers deemed Jwaneng as the ideal place to host the exhibition because it was home to the world famous diamond mine.
“Aside from its outstanding reputation, Jwaneng will give all stakeholders a fantastic opportunity to attend the MTE expo and view the exciting new technology that will be on display,” he said.
Mr Macnamara revealed that in its 21 years of existence, MTE had organised many shows not only in South Africa but also around the major mines and mining areas in Southern Africa.
Some of their targeted countries included Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Selebi-Phikwe is also expected to host the same exhibition on June 12 this year, while the rest of this year’s calendar is mostly dominated by South Africa. ENDS
