Metro electric buses pilot project on

Commuters boarding the newly introduced TANA Metro electric buses during the pilot phase of the programme in Gaborone over the weekend. The initiative, a partnership between the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and the Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA), is being implemented through Tana Holdings, a CEDA subsidiary.
The pilot phase commenced with 10 electric buses operating on the Metsimotlhabe–Tlokweng and Game City–Phakalane routes, offering commuters complimentary rides as government assesses the service and gathers public feedback. The programme seeks to improve access to public transport, enhance efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable urban mobility.
