04 Mar 2014

Local transport mogul, Mr Seabelo Tlhaselo has donated a 16-seater mini bus to the Evangelical Lutheran Church branch in Ramotswa.

The mini bus, which was unveiled at the church on March 2, would aid the church to carry its extensive pastoral responsibilities. Speaking at the ceremony, Bank of Botswana governor, Ms Linah Mohohlo said the donation would help the church carry stewardship programmes such as visiting home care patients.

Ms Mohohlo further explained that the vehicle would also be used in implementing charitable community projects, conducting evangelical work and participating in inter- denomination undertakings among others. She commended Mr Tlhaselo for having undertaken the project to purchase the vehicle through raising funds.

“I am informed that half way through June last year, Mr Tlhaselo began to raise funds for the noble project and this followed his generous P 500 000 pledge of 2012 which will be used for other church projects in annual tranches of P 100 000,” she said.

She further said Mr Tlhaselo achieved his dream through persistence, perseverance and persuasion. She highlighted that it was not the first time that Mr Tlhaselo donated to the church adding that he donated the plot on which the church was built.

For his part, Mr Tlhaselo said it was not easy to find donors because people did not have money. However, he said he was grateful to have contributed from his personal and company finances.

Mr Tlhaselo was able to raise P160 000 and further contributed P111 500 from Seabelo Express Company and from his own personal finances. ENDS
