Batswana should enhance knowledge

Batswana have been implored to use new look public libraries across the country to quench their thirst for knowledge.

Sesigo Roadshow coordinator, Mr Ernest Sereto made the call in an interview during a roadshow in Kanye recently. He said government, through the Ministry of Youth Sport and Culture as well as African Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Partnership (ACHAP) had equipped all the public libraries across the nation with free internet services for the benefit of Batswana.

Mr Sereto said 398 computers had been installed in public libraries to enhance access to information. He said they offered free basic computer literacy courses at the libraries to enable attendants to effectively use the machines to do an independent search for information.

The coordinator said they had staged roadshows in Mahalapye, Selebe Phikwe, Tshane, Molepolole, Tsabong, Mabutsane and Gaborone to enhance public awareness thus urged people to take advantage. ENDS
