DTVET holds skills competition March 7

The Ministry of Education and Skills Development through the Department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (DTVET) will hold inaugural TVET Skills Competitions on March 7 starting at 8am.
The main event will take place at Gaborone Technical College. Through the competitions, DTVET would seek to promote and publicise technical and vocational education and training in Botswana.
The main objectives of the skills competitions are among others to showcase skills acquired by students during their training, to market TVET programmes, to improve the image of TVET and also encourage innovation and research. Competitors are students from Technical Colleges and Brigades.
Vocational areas in which the students will be competing are in the following trades: bricklaying and plastering, hairdressing, hospitality clothing design and textiles, electrical, information communication technology and multimedia.
Education minister, Dr Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi is expected to officiate at the main event. ENDS
