Kazungula registers second win

Kazungula Young Fighters recorded their second victory when they defeated Sankoyo Bush Bucks 1-0.
The first division teams met in Kasane on Saturday for a clash that was marred with controversy as Sankoyo cried foul at most of the referee’s decisions.
A penalty awarded to Kazungula Young Fighters in the 55th minute, which resulted in the deciding goal, sparked an outcry as the opposing side felt it was undeserved.
The game also produced two red cards and two yellow cards. Sankoyo succumbed to defeat having failed to win one of their five matches played thus far.
“My players were intimidated most of the time by the referee and any slightest foul resulted in a card yet our opponents were having it easy,” Sankoyo coach, Gadimang Tiiso said in a post match interview.
Tiiso’s game plan of scoring two early goals in the first half never materialised as the first half ended goalless.
Partly owning up to the defeat, Tiiso said his players were also fatigued as they had driven six hours to get to Kasane from Maun that very day and had not rested before the game.
“Also they are match rusty since the last game they played was in November last year,” he added.
Newly appointed Kazungula coach, William Makhula was not as excited about his win as one would expect.
“My players did not play very well, some of them could not adapt to the system,” he said referring to the four new players he was trying out. ENDS
