Assistant Minister of Agriculture, Mr Oreeditse Molebatsi, is in Italy for the 37th Session of the Governing Council of the International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD), which started on February 19 and ends today, February 20.
A press release from the ministry stated that the meeting themed: Investing in Small Holder Family Farmers for the Future we Want, would provide a platform for sharing best practices, experiences and lessons in relation to the important role of the small holder family farmers.
Since Botswana is a signatory of IFAD, the release said Mr Molebatsi served as the governor in the council.
The session, stated the release, was the first major meeting of a United Nations Organisation in the International Year of Family Farming. He returns back home on Saturday, February 22. ENDS
