Ghanaian awakens Mamoja diski

ECCO City Greens are optimistic that their Ghanaian striker, Ishmael Amponnsah is exactly what the doctor has ordered for lack of goals in the team.
Playing his second game in the green and white colours of struggling Mamoja diski against BMC at the Francistown stadium on Saturday February 15, Amponnsah scored the opening goal as they thumped Daniel Nare’s troops 2-0 to move to position nine in the be Mobile league log standings.
In his derby against Motlakase a fortnight ago, he gave his new side a much needed boost in their striking department as he scored his first goal which saw them playing to a one-all draw away from home.
Since the beginning of the season, the once fearful ECCO have been struggling in their striking department and their coach Atshele Molapi who also had a new assistant coach in Aupa Kowa had been decrying that if only they could get a striker, their problems of a dry spell in front of goals would be a thing of the past.
During the encounter, unlike in the other games, they had played at home and lost, ECCO displayed a positive approach from the onset as they pilled pressure in the midfield and were better in ball possession.
BMC's Sageby Sandaka was starved of balls in attack. He turned out to be a shadow of himself. The return of Vincent Radisoeng, who has been out since the beginning of the season due to ankle injury in the ECCO defence, formed a solid buffer to deny BMC efforts of making attempts at goals.
Controlling the game in almost all the departments, ECCO secured their second goal through a penalty in the 20th minute which was converted by Mogomotsi Samson and went for recess leading by two goals.
In the second half, the game turned ugly as Nare was given marching orders by referee Mooketsi Mbekwa just before the start of the half for using his mobile phone on the technical bench. As if that was not enough with BMC still struggling to rattle the net, Tshepo Maikano followed his coach as he also received a red card for a second bookable offence.
BMC’s only realistic attempt at the goals by Kemmy Pilato in the 79th minute which could have given them a consolation goal was saved by ECCO’s goal minder, Chamunorwa Madamombe as he stretched hard to make the crucial save. Ends
