Community bids Ramhago farewell

15 Jun 2025

Mourners braved the chilling Saturday morning breeze to bid Veronica Ramhago farewell in Molapowabojang.

The atmosphere was sombre as mourners tried to come to terms with the tragedy that befell the Ramhago family. Different speakers at the funeral described Vero, as she was affectionately known, as a loving individual who was always willing to help where she could.

The deceased’s uncle, Mr Ben Moumakwa said his niece was a peace-loving individual, who had never given the elders trouble when growing up. He said she was destined for greatness, but assailants cut her life short. Mr Moumakwa thanked dozens of mourners who came to support the family in their time of sorrow.

Her colleagues revealed that she was a good person and was easy to work with. They said it was very unfortunate to have lost such a good person adding that it was only through prayer that the family would be able to face the future without their daughter, mother, aunt and cousin.

Ramhago served in many non-government organisations before joining the Ministry for State President as a monitoring and evaluation officer based in Kasane in 2018. She was transferred to Ramotswa under the Office of the District Commissioner in December last year, where she served until she met her untimely demise.

Ramhago was discovered murdered in her house on June 5 and Ramotswa Police are still searching for two suspects, Adriano Caetano, a Mozambican male and Fanes Manyewe, a Zimbabwean female. ENDS
