Mokalake explains plot allocation for dikgotla
03 Feb 2014
The Minister of Lands and Housing is not aware that land boards give herdmen of arbitration a hard time in allocation of land thus hindering development of wards.
Mr Lebonaamang Mokalake noted that allocation of land for dikgotla had been and continued to be granted as proposed by tribal administration.
Kgosi Sello Moroka of Tswapong Region had asked the minister if he was aware that land boards were giving headmen of arbitration a hard time in allocating them land thus hindering the development of wards.
Mr Mokalake said it was, however, a practice that applications for land for dikgotla should have the support of the area kgosi. The minister said this was done to address concerns raised by tribal administration regarding the mushrooming of dikgotla everywhere. ENDS
