School head appreciates parents support

The school head of Bakoko Primary School in Moshupa, Mr Wilson Jatlhapi has praised parents for the determination, dedication and cooperation they rendered to his school.

He was speaking during the school excellency award ceremony held recently. The ceremony was meant to award the best student in PSLE results last year. The student, Alfred Kakadumane was adopted by Mr William Maboane through adopt a child programme.

Mr Maboane contributed P1 500 for Alfred, who is now doing form one at Baitirile JSS, to buy school uniform. Mr Jatlhapi said when parents were called for meetings they came in large numbers which boosted the morale of both teachers and students.

He said Alfred defeated others because he was serious with his education, adding that his mother was behind him all the time. He said in 2012, his school obtained 51 per cent, ABC passes and 2013 they increased the tally to 61 per cent passes.

He said the school was coming from bottom steadily because of working hand in hand with Parents Teachers Association.   Motivational Speaker Ms Esaleone Kgopana, encouraged other students to set goals towards their education.

She said they should have great passion and self-confidence. Ms Kgopana said education was the key to success and one needs to be patient. She said students should not choose bad company, advising them to have good friends who are reliable to assist. She appealed to teachers to work hard and forget about frustrations which are always experienced in the work place.

Mr Maboane also encouraged Alfred to continue working hard in his education because the road is still too long. For his part Alfred said he felt honoured to be the first student in Bakoko to beat others and be adopted. He said he was working towards vision 2016 pillar of an educated and informed nation.
