Govt private sector collaborations essential to enhance productivity

There is need for more collaborations and partnerships, with both government and private sector to ensure maximum productivity of the labour force and decent work creation.
Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs deputy permanent secretary, Ms Tshenolo Omphithetse said this when delivering a keynote address during the launch of the Top 100 Human Resources Leaders in Botswana Initiative recently.
The launch was held under the theme: Recognising and Honouring The Change Makers in Human Resources in Botswana.
Ms Omphithetse expressed gratitude to the Progressive Institute for its unwavering commitment to placing the people agenda at the forefront of the National Economic Dialoque, ‘through this commendable initiative, which recognised exceptional leaders who are spearheading impact and innovation in the realm of work’.
The initiative, aimed at recognising and celebrating the exemplary contributions of the finest 100 human capital leaders in the nation, served as catalyst, inspiring more leaders to proactively drive positive change that re-shape work dynamics to the benefit of both organisations and individuals.
She said the initiative also signified a resounding commitment to the identification and acknowledgement of the Top 100 influential HR leaders in Botswana.
She said the Top 100 Human Resources Leaders ‘are individuals who play an instrumental role in shaping the country’s human capital landscape by extension, make substantial impact on the nation’s economic development through their innovative and forward-thinking practices’.
“In the era where human resources is central to Botswana’s transformation agenda, HR leaders find themselves at the forefront of change, consistently challenged to formulate dynamic business and people strategies that offer transformative and innovative solutions,” she added.
In his opening remarks, Progressive Institute chief executive officer, Mr Mmoloki Mmolotsi explained that the Top 100 HR leaders were selected not only for their brilliance, but for their remarkable talent, resourcefulness and compassion.
He also revealed that the Top 100 HR Leaders Awards Ceremony would be held on December 16 at Boipuso Hall to honour their contribution in the field of HR.
Boitekanelo College president and founder, Dr Tiro Mampane commended the Top 100 HR leaders for their significant contribution in shaping the future of the country’s human resources.
He said the outstanding contributions to the industry, dedication, passion and unwavering commitment to excellence of human resources leaders was an inspiration, as it had elevated the field of human resources and also positively impacted the lives of countless employees.
Dr Mampane said in a rapidly changing world, HR leaders played a pivotal role in driving organisational success.
“They are the architects of talent management strategies, champions of employee engagement and catalysts of fostering inclusive and diverse workplaces,” added Dr Mampane. Ends
