Police in Gumare are investigating an incident in which a 41-year-old man of Mabudutsa ward in Gumare was found hanging from a tree.

In an interview, Gumare Police Station commander, Superintendent Chenamo Orateng said the deceased was found hanging from a tree by a passerby on Saturday morning at Letsaudi ward in the outskirts of Gumare.

He said police went to the scene and the man was taken to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

Supt Orateng said preliminary investigations showed that the man had an argument with his lover the previous night.

He however said the deceased did not leave a message explaining why he took his life.

Supt Orateng said the police were worried about such incidents and advised that people should seek intervention from relatives, professional counsellors or the police instead of resorting to suicide. ENDS
