Prosecution to retrieve exhibits from Zimbabwe
04 Jul 2023
The state prosecution is ready to collect exhibits from Zimbabwe to present as evidence, in a case where six men are accused of robbing the Southern African Development Community (SADC) headquarters valuables amounting to P582 000.
Prosecutor, Mr Pascal Mhandu told the Village Magistrate court recently that investigations were still ongoing and that the state would be travelling to Zimbabwe this week to get the exhibits.
“As we await the exhibits from Zimbabwe, I propose that we continue with trial for count number one of the charge where investigations are complete,” said Mr Mhandu.
He also requested that the accused be further remanded in custody because the matter was still under investigation.
The six, Naitapiso Kgakgamatso, Lesego Masilo, Mpho Rasetena, Otsile Semadi, Tongai Tsikirayi and Innocent Bushiri Shaggy, are alleged to have January 29, 2020 at the SADC headquarters in Gaborone stole laptops and cameras valued at about P582 000.
Meanwhile, the accused are expected to appear before the court on July 27 for update on the case progress. ENDs
