Vice President consoles Boiditswes family

04 Jul 2023

Kgosi Kgomotso Boiditswe of Serowe will always be remembered for his good work ethic, the Vice President, Mr Slumber Tsogwane, said when commiserating with the late kgosi’s family at Rasesoma ward, Monday.

Mr Tsogwane said he appreciated the time he worked with Kgosi Boiditswe while serving as minister of local government.

He said he visited the Boiditswe family to commiserate with them since he could not make it to the funeral on Sunday, and assured the family of support in their time of grief.

“No one ever knows when they will depart this world but what is important is for one to be humble and courteous to other people,” he said, adding that their loss was not a punishment from God and that they should celebrate the late kgosi’s life and legacy.

Kgosi Boiditswe’s brother-in-law Mr Shadrack Mabuza from eSwatini said they were humbled to have met with the Vice President before returning to their country.

Aggrieved as they were by the loss of Kgosi Boiditswe, Mr Mabuza said they enjoyed the relationship they had with the Boiditswe family and people of Botswana.

“We are thankful for the opportunity to be part of the ceremony that took place over the weekend. We would like to maintain the good relationship that we have had with the Boiditswes and Batswana,” he said.

A neighbour, Mr Mmoloki Phalalo said President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi sent a message of condolences, for which the family was grateful.

He said the family appreciated the support they received from government and Batswana and thanked Kgosi Boiditswe’s children for caring for their father. Kgosi Boiditswe died June 26 at Sidilega Hospital in Gaborone.

He was appointed Headman of Arbitration in Topisi and was transferred to Serowe main kgotla last year, where he served as chief’s representative.

He was aged 65. ENDS
