Social club donates stationery

13 Jun 2023

As part of its social responsibility programme, 3D Social Club last Friday donated stationery worth P5 400 to Mogoditshane Primary School.

Speaking during the handover ceremony at the school, the club’s chairperson, Mr Mpho Leshomo said the gesture was motivated by their conviction that education was the most powerful instrument that could change the world for the better.  Giving a brief background of 3D Social Club, he explained that it was established in 2011 when most of the founding members were turning 30, and they formed the group to celebrate the milestone in their lives, while the name stands for three decades.

He said upon the club’s formation, they started a number of community outreach programmes to give back to the community.

Mr Leshomo said that led the club to adopting Mogoditshane Primary School, and providing it with stationary every year.

“We believe that by doing this, we are contributing towards creating a better future for children at this school because education is the key to empowering young minds to reach their full potential.

Working together, we can create a world where every child, regardless of their circumstances, has the opportunity to receive quality education and fulfil their dreams,” Mr Leshomo stated.

Deputy council secretary, Mr Bakang Matlho, said as a former learner at Mogoditshane Primary School he was grateful for the club’s gesture. He commended 3D for caring about members of the community.

Mr Matlho said the donation came handy given the challenging economic times. He said before the COVID-19 pandemic, the council’s annual stationary budget was P450 for each learner. However, that has since been reduced to P178 per learner. “As a society, we should all take part in the education of our children, as education is one of the fundamental essentials that pave the way for our children’s future careers,” noted Mr Matlho.

Giving a vote of thanks, Kgosi Goitsemang Dihutso expressed gratitude to see a social club taking interest in the welfare of the children, saying the donation would positively impact on the learning environment at Mogoditshane Primary School. ends
