Self care critical to young wives well-being
02 Jun 2023
Self care is crucial to the well-being of young wives, as it helps them to make a continuous difference in taking care of their families and loved ones.
In an interview recently, Young wives brunch organiser, Keamogetse Mabotho said from time immemorial, wives had always been the cornerstone of a family and a lot was expected from them hence the need to always equip themselves with self care means.
“Self care is a transformational means that could help young wives juggle well between some of their family expectations and also be in a position to fully take care of themselves in different ways,” she explained.
She said being a young wife did not mean one should lose themselves trying to meet all the family expectations.
“Once your cup runs out as a wife you are likely to fail your family and loved ones, as such it is imperative that you engage in ways to take care of your well-being in different ways,” she said.
After hosting the inaugural session last year, Mabotho stated that this year's event would be focused on self-care.
She said the brunch's second iteration would educate young wives on topics such as self-care, self-actualisation and art therapy, among others.
“A wife can only give so much as their cups also run dry and hence need to appreciate the importance of taking care of themselves so that they can show up more whole for their families, “she said. ends
