Tsogwane condoles Sebina Lesiapeto families

Acting President Slumber Tsogwane on Sunday visited the Sebina and Lesiapeto families of Palapye and Serowe respectively to commisserate  with them following the loss of their loved ones, Messrs Gagoope Sebina and Tshenolo Lesiapeto.

In Palapye, the acting president told the family of the late Mmaphula East councillor that they should cherish the time they spent with him.

Mr Tsogwane asked Mr Sebina’s wife to be thankful for the years she spent with him and the fact that she was able to look after him when he was ailing.

Mr Sebina passed away April 2 after a long illness.

His wife Theresa thanked the acting president for the visit saying her husband had been a dedicated member of Botswana Democratic Party (BDP).

She pledged her allegiance to the party.

Letswapo Region BDP chairperson, Mr Bofelo Kgaodi  described the deceased as a parent to all of them and a hard worker.

 Mr Sebina worked hard for the party and was respected by all, Mr Kgaodi said adding that his death was a great loss to the BDP.

Visiting the Lesiapeto family in Serowe, Mr Tsogwane said government was thankful for the late soldier’s service of protecting the nation.

The deceased knew the dangers associated with being a soldier  but chose it anyway and gave it his all, said the acting president.

Mr Tsogwane said soldiers deserved credit because of the nature of their work.

 He thanked Mr Lesiapeto’s family for allowing him to pursue a career in the army and keep the nation safe.

The deceased’s brother-in-law, Mr Obusitswe Mongatale said the corporal died May 20 at Bokamoso Hospital after a short illness.

Still on Sunday, the acting president convened a meeting with Serowe West party structures to discuss developments in the constituency and how to bring  lost members back into the fold.

Serowe West parliamentary seat has been declared vacant after Botswana Patriotic Front MP Tshekedi Khama missed two consecutive Parliament sittings.

This led to him being disqualified.  ends
