24 May 2023
Parents of students of Okavango Secondary school, have been lauded for their involvement in their children’s academic work.
Speaking during a motivation session by the Kavis Kario Foundation recently, the School head, Mr Ekubile Mmusinyane appreciated the parents for their efforts in ensuring the school’s good results. The founder of the foundation, Mr Kavis Kario recognised form one to form three top ten high achievers.
Mr Kario encouraged the learners to always aim high in their academic work, adding that to get good results, students must be dedicated and not be followed around to learn.
He said the donation was meant to motivate students to work hard and improve their results, as the school aims to emerge the best nationally, not just in the Ngami constituency.
He further said parental involvement and partnership was key to excellence.
A form three student, who got position one, Hope Tjihumino urged her fellow students to always work hard, while advising those who were not among the top ten to try harder next time.
Ms Tjihumino said her strategy included waking up early in the morning to study, while her mind was still fresh and using past examination papers to revise.
The foundation donated cash to be divided among the students as well as printing paper to three primary schools in Gumare. ENDS
