Partnerships that promote equality in the school environment and invest in education should be nurtured for the learners’ benefit.
Such partnerships motivate learners to do even better because a child dressed properly in full school uniform achieved good results as they would not be distracted by looking different.
Matlola Primary School head Ms Reginah Mosepele said this May 12, receiving gifts from a London based business woman.
The business woman, Ms Eugenia Busquets-Blasquez gifted 37 learners from Matlola Primary School with uniforms, a printer, photocopier and scan worth P19 000.
Ms Mosepele thanked one of her teachers Mr Babusi Sephunya for going above and beyond his duties to seek assistance from donors.
The head thanked Ms Busquets-Blasquez for the donation adding that generosity was an act worth to be celebrated at all times.
Giving an overview of the partnership Mr Sephunya stated that this donation came about upon sharing with his friend Mr David Smith in Maun that some learners did not have uniforms.
He said Mr Smith promised to link the school with international donors hence Ms Busquets- Blasquez’s intervention adding that she was thrilled to partner with the school.
Mr Sephunya said as a teacher, it was imperative to go beyond the classroom and reach out to learners’ welfare.
Standard seven learner Fikile Masake thanked the donor for giving them uniform adding that the tracksuits, beanie hats and shoes would shield them from the cold winter. ENDS
