Universities of Botswana Toronto sign MoU

University of Botswana (UB) and the University of Toronto recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as part of their pursuit of academic excellence in Africa and in the world.
UB vice chancellor, Professor David Norris said UB continued to strive for high standards in the field of research and innovation, adding that the agreement would promote academic and cultural exchange as well as cooperation in teaching and research.
Prof. Norris said before signing the MoU, UB did extensive research and were thrilled that the University of Toronto aligned well with what they desired.
He said they liked the fact that the University of Toronto placed emphasis on experiential learning, incubation of companies from university set up, entrepreneurship, climate change and zero carbon society.
He said UB aspires to be a transformative centre for research, hence attracting universities of repute across the globe such as University of Toronto.
For his part, the vice president of University of Toronto and principal of Scarborough campus, Prof. Wisdom Tettey said they were happy to collaborate with UB, adding that the collaboration would impact the rest of the world.
Prof. Tettey said the partnership was mutually beneficial as they would be sharing common goals and values.
He added that the purpose of the visit was to explore synergies, establish principles and define areas of collaboration between the two institutions of higher learning. Ends
