Much prayer is needed for Botswana’s peace and tranquility, Molepolole South MP Mr Kabo Morwaeng said during special prayers session for the village conducted by Molepolole Ministers Fraternal at the main kgotla over the weekend. 

Mr Morwaeng said government needed divine intervention to succeed and prayer provided assurance of such intervention. It was for this reason that government recognised the church as a strategic partner in governance and nation building, he said. 

The chairperson of the organisation, Pastor Diane Mogome, explained prayers were meant to give thanks to God for grace and peace that the country had enjoyed over the years. 

Additionally, he said the prayers were against “youth’s senseless behaviour and ... fatal road accidents during Easter Holidays,” he said. 

Sub Inspector Goodman Mphatho advised the public to prepare in time for the upcoming Easter Holidays to avoid travel disruptions. 

“Ensure that your property is protected and safe during the holidays and Pastors be aware of crooks who impersonate police investigators to rob you of church offerings,” said Sub Inspector Mphatho. 

Earlier on the day MP Morwaeng and his wife Phondi donated pre-school playing and learning materials for children to private owned pre-schools in Molepolole. The donation was carried out at Sebele Primary school. Addressing the Pre-school owners and teachers, MP Morwaeng said that the donation was meant to uplift learning in the schools as they were the ones teaching leaders of tomorrow. 

“This material will help nurture everyday learning of the children. The other aim for this donation is to encourage pre-school owners to do better by adhering to rules and regulations given by the council,” he said. 

Chairperson of Molepolole Early Childhood Association Ms Kerapetse Sebolai, appreciated the donations on behalf of the pre-school owners and said this would encourage them to adhere to the rules and regulations set by the council to avoid closure of schools. Ends
