In celebration of women, Jam’N Soul Live Sessions will host an all local female acts live session at Gaborone club on March 26. Jam’N Soul Live Session has roped in female performers given their prowess and that they are equally capable of attracting crowds of different  age groups. 

Youthful Batswana musicians Dato Seiko, Sebaga, Tay and Zano will headline the event.

To spice the line up South African Langa Mavuso of Intliziyo fame featuring Lloyiso and Press of Thojana ya Thesele will complete the lineup.

Jam’N Soul Live Sessions organiser Kagiso Moatlhodi said in an interview that the local line-up was deliberately selected to celebrate women in the creative space during this international month of women.

Founded in 2018, Jam’N Soul Live Sessions provides various forms of entertainment ranging from poetry, performing art, dance and fine art. Since inception, the event has grown having started intimately with only 50 people and grew to  over 3 000 people.

With not much experience in the industry, Moatlhodi put to mind her concept of versatility and provided a different experience in every show that she hosted. Her marketing background, came in handy in planning events.

 “I have been learning and growing as an events promoter, and I believe we provide our crowd with a different genre and concept of soulful music environment,” Moatlhodi said.

Moatlhodi said they thrived to instill inspiration among the local creatives by bringing in international acts such as Lloyiso who featured in the last Jam’N Soul Live Session last December.

 “Lloyiso rose to stardom right in front of us and he started at Idols SA where he did not win but he managed to grab a deal with an international record in the US,” she noted.

 She said local soul artistes of genre similar to  that of Lloyiso and Langa Mavuso could get inspiration and motivation from these acts especially given their musical background.
