First National Bank of Botswana (FNB) is at it again with its latest innovation in digital banking.

The bank, on Friday (November 15) launched a new product, FNB Smartphone Banking Application that works on iOS Apple – a mobile operating system, BlackBerry 10 as well as Android Smartphones.

As part of its wider digital and mobile strategy, the bank also launched the FNB.mobi site which worked on both smartphones and internet enabled phones.

Speaking at the product launch, FNB director of public sector and eSolutions, Ms Yolisa Phillips-Lejowa said the bank endeavoured to take banking to another level. She said customers wanted conveniences and they did not like queuing at banks and therefore the digital banking things would be more convenient.

Ms Lejowa noted that for clients who did not have cellphones that were compatible with the FNB App, the bank introduced the FNB.mobi as another innovative channel to cater for these clients.he site, www.fnbbw.mobi had device detection and will render in a manner that is suitable for either a smartphone or a feature phone.

On the other hand, the FNB App allowed customers to have direct and easy access to accounts held with FNB.Users can make payments, transfer funds between accounts, view balances, prepaid purchase, geo payments and detailed transactional history, she said.

Ms Lejowa said the FNB App is free to download and is available at Google play store, Apple application store and Blackberry application world. To use the FNB App, one need to be registered on online banking and have internet connection on WIFI or 3G.Non FNB customers are also able to use the FNB App for eWallet services, she said. ENDS
