Ten Khwai families receive gifts
20 Dec 2022
The Maun division of the Land Tribunal recently donated food hampers and toiletries to 10 families in Khwai.
Handing over the hampers, the president of Land Tribunal Maun division, Mr Tebogo Masala said the initiative followed a court circuit held in Khwai, during a ‘taking services to the people’ event.
He said motivated by the Vision 2036 pillar of Human and Social Development, staff members decided to donate to the Khwai community at Christmas time and raised funds to ensure the exercise was a success.
Mr Masala said they extended an invitation to their stakeholders, who acceded to their call, which led to the increase in the number of beneficiaries from five to 10 families.
Kgosi Morafe Mothala of Khwai expressed gratitude to the Land Tribunal, Maun branch for the donation, adding that the hampers would make a difference to the families during the festive season.
He further stated that acts of benevolence boosted the spirit of the village leadership because in every community there were less privileged families, who could not all be assisted through government programmes. ENDS
