Acting President condoles five bereaved families

Acting President Mr Slumber Tsogwane has implored five bereaved families of Itholoke, Khakhea, Keng and Sekoma in the Mabutsane Sub-district to have hope and faith in the Lord as they mourn the passing on of their beloved ones.
Mr Tsogwane visited the families Saturday to offer them support and express sympathy.
He assured them that government would do its utmost best to ensure their welfare was well taken care of.
“We can only ask God to protect and take care of those who remain behind,” he said.
He said tribulations should draw them nearer to God, thus imploring the families to pray without ceasing.
Setalo family in Itholoke lost three family members; Mr Mmadikgache Sejanamane, Ms Bantatlhile Setalo and Mr Obane Setalo, who died last month after drinking a home brewed beverage.
Mr Tsogwane thus advised the community and development officers to assess the family’s needs and see how best to assist them.
He also implored Batswana to assist each other in times of need.
Police investigations on the matter are ongoing and the concoction has since been sent to laboratories to determine if it was fit for human consumption.
The Acting President called on those handling food and beverages to always exercise caution to ensure they were safe for human consumption.
Family representative, Mr Sebetso Setalo expressed gratitude over the visit.
He said on the fateful day, he was alerted by the deceased children that their parents were not well and were confirmed dead upon arrival at Princess Marina Hospital, where they were referred to.
The Acting President also had the opportunity to console Batsheng family in Khakhea following the demise of their loved family member, Ms Botshenene Batsheng recently.
He also visited the Tshaila and Moshana families in Keng, who lost their family members; Messrs Kontie Tshaila and Mariba Moshana recently.
In Sekoma, he conveyed condolences to the Kgabo family following the passing on of Ms Ipelege Molelekwa recently. ends
