Public sector must lead in mindset change
12 Dec 2022
Mindset change and positive thinking within the public sector can influence the community to follow suit, Ghanzi District Council chairperson, Mr Jeremiah Tibi has said.
Speaking during the chairman’s ball recently, Mr Tibi urged public officers to undergo vigorous mindset change and start thinking positively.
“It starts with us, then the community will follow,” he stated.
Turning to the council’s challenges, Mr Tibi mentioned low revenue collection, poor project implementation as well as poor service delivery.
He however thanked the entire district staff for their efforts and dedication to service delivery.
Mr Tibi said together they could make the impossible possible through teamwork, resilience, collaboration and commitment.
He appealed to the district’s private sector and NGOs to bridge the gap that seemed to exist between them and council.
For his part, Ghanzi East Sub-district chairperson, Mr Modise Madumane said perseverance could help public officers achieve their mandate of quality service delivery. BOPA
