North West District teachers deliver on promise

North West District teachers have been commended for donating a mini-bus towards a worthy cause. 

The mini-bus promised on Teacher’s Day will assist Kelekele Primary School special education unit.

In recognition of the efforts during the handing over in Gumare, Thursday, Senior Assistant Council Secretary in the Okavango Sub-district Mr Thatayotlhe Balapi said the donation was demonstration  that teachers were important partners in the education of the society.

Mr Balapi said what made the gesture even more important was that teachers used the little they had towards achieving the goal.

Principal Education Officer from the North West Regional Education Office Mr Modiri Mosiameemang said the donation proved that it was possible to achieve set goals through unity.

North West Regional Teachers Day chairperson, Ms Lynettte Setumo said she was glad that the mini-bus, which could have been handed over in June would now do its worthy cause.

In her remarks, Kelekele Primary School Deputy School Head Ms Gobonwe Rangosa said the special education unit had challenges of transport and accommodation for learners and was hopeful that it would remedy the situation.

The school has an enrolment of 913 learners with about 34 in the special education unit. Ends
