Two Kasane wards appoint interim trust board
22 Nov 2022
Plateau and Kasane Central communities have appointed an interim board for the Seboba/Commissioner’s Kop Conservation Trust.
The appointment was made during a Kgotla meeting that passed a motion of no confidence on the board that was appointed in 2017.
The interim board which was appointed on a six months term was assigned to write to the High Court for the dissolution of the old board, access a copy of the trust’s constitution and to get all relevant documents that would pave way for the trust’s annual general meeting.
The committee was made up of five members from each of the two wards.
Earlier when briefing the residents of the two wards, Plateau Village Committee Chairperson, Ms Leshando Rephatlaletse said previously a meeting was held by the two wards and the board was invited but did not turn up.
She said it was during the meeting that a resolution was made to the effect of convening another meeting that would pass a motion of no confidence on the board as it had failed to convene an AGM to apprise the community on how the trust had been performing.
She said it also came to light that the board had on five occasions failed to turn up when called by the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) and the Area MP.
In attendance were the Acting District Commissioner, Ms Gofaone Moremi, Kasane and Plateau Court Presidents, Councillors and members of the TAC. BOPA
