The Ministry of Lands and Water Affairs has, as a long term intervention to further alleviate water distribution challenges within Molepolole, prioritised rehabilitation of its water distribution network in the 12^th National Development Plan (NDP 12).

Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Mabuse Pule said this in response to a question at Ntlo Ya Dikgosi on behalf of lands and water affairs minister on Monday.

Mr Pule said the project was scheduled to commence during the 2023/2024 financial year.

He added that the medium term solution to address Molepolole water supply challenges was the ongoing Gamononyane-Molepolole North South water carrier connection project, which was under construction, scheduled to be completed by March next year.

Mr Pule told members that the ministry was only aware of a borehole drilled within the Molepolole Institute of Health Sciences perimeter although it was never equipped on account of being dry.

Kgosi Mompoloki Motswagole of Molepolole region wanted to know if the minister would consider equipping one of the boreholes at Molepolole Institute of Health Sciences to address shortage of water that affected the school community. ENDS
