The Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Kgotla Autlwetse, will embark on a series of consultative kgotla meetings on the restructuring of councils.

A press release from the ministry states that consultative meetings will commence today and conclude on October 27.

The release says Minister Autlwetse will address kgotla meetings in Tutume and Mathangwane today, Tonota tomorrow, Letlhakane on Wednesday and Mahalapye on October 20.

On October 25, he will address a kgotla meeting in Hukuntsi, Tsabong on October 26, Takatokwane and Letlhakeng on October 27.

The release further says local government and rural development assistant minister, Mr Setlhabelo Modukanele will address other kgotla meetings  from October 19 to 26.

On Wednesday, it says, Mr Modukanele will address a meeting in Maun, followed by Gumare on October 20, Good Hope on October 25 and Mogoditshane on October 26.

The consultative meetings follow the recent upgrading of Good Hope, Molepolole, Mogoditshane, Letlhakeng, Mahalapye, Tutume, Boteti, Maun, Okavango, Tsabong and Hukuntsi sub-districts into fully-fledged districts. BOPA
