Shot in the arm for Refa Ka Bone Caring Centre

Ramotswa based soccer teams on Tuesday, presented food hampers to Refa Ka Bone Caring Centre, in appreciation of their goodwill.
The centre is a non-profit making organisation that offers services as counseling, social support and day care for the elderly and mentally challenged people, to enable their family members and care givers time to attend to other tasks.
Run by volunteers under the guidance of founder and coordinator, Ms Akanyang Mokwena, the centre ensures that clients are provided with meals, assistance with taking medication and adherence to medical checkups, assistance with personal care tasks including bathing and laundry.
Balete deputy chief, Kgosi Tsimane Mokgosi applauded the support senior citizens received from teams.
He said the good gesture would go a long way in assisting the underprivileged members of the community who relied solely on good Samaritans and appealed to the business community to also come on board.
When handing over the food hampers, Letloa Social club manager, Mr Neelo Rakhobo said they hosted an independence charity cup for philanthropic purposes and the centre was one of the organisations they chose to help.
Mr Rakhobo said the independence tournament aimed to assist social clubs build their financial foundation, to enable them to play a role in helping charity initiatives.
He said with help from various sponsors as Mr Boniface Mabeo, Mr Aubrey Sebalusu of Leoba’s Pub, and Botsogo Pele among others, the tournament was a success.
Mr Rakhobo said Letloa was established in 2020 and had been taking part in various charity initiatives in Ramotswa.
He said they chose to donate to Refa ka Bone Centre because of their good work.
For her part Ms Mokwena said the organisation had about 75 elders and mentally challenged patients who depended on their care and support.
Ms Mokwena encouraged social clubs to inform people about the organisation and the challenges they faced. Ends
