Kgosi Telekelo dies

The family of Kgosi Karabo Telekelo of Ranaka who died on September 27, is yet to finalise funeral arrangements.

Kgosi Telekelo, 57, died after a long illness and is survived by wife, seven sons and two daughters.

Kgosi Telekelo has served as headman of records for nine years, from 2003 until 2012 and was later appointed to the position of acting senior chief’s representative in 2012 following promotion of his elder brother, Kgosi Kebapetse Telekelo to the position of deputy paramount chief of Bangwaketse.

In an interview, Kgosi Kebapetse said his younger brother had been in good health until last year when his health deteriorated due to stroke.

He said the deceased was rushed to Kanye Seventh Day Adventist Hospital on September 27, after realising that he was not well, only to be certified dead on arrival.

He described the late Kgosi Telekelo as a passionate, self-driven, loving and caring person who was also fond of dogs, breeding boerboels.

“Kgosi Telekelo was born here and did his schooling in Ranaka. He completed his studies at Standard Seven. 

He later became an astounding farmer, tending his parent’s looking after from his youthful age,” he said.

He said the late Kgosi Telekelo later worked at a family wholesale in Maun for a short period after which he returned home to herd their parents’ livestock. 

He added that the deceased was also passionate about horse riding. ENDS
