Madiba senior anticipates good results this year

The hard work demonstrated by Form Five Development Studies (DVS) pupils in their final project paves way for good results in their final examinations, Madiba Senior Secondary School head Ms Masego Gaorengwe has said.
Speaking during the handing over of toiletries to the school by the learners in Mahalapye on Tuesday September 20,Ms Gaorengwe expressed gratitude to all who made the project a success noting that the gesture was special as learners volunteered and worked hard to make it possible.
For their final examination project, DVS pupils embarked on a charity project by mobilising donations of toiletry and sanitary pads to others in need.
The school head said what they did demonstrated teamwork and social responsibility and explained that it was very rare for learners to come together in the name of charity.
Ms Gaorengwe encouraged learners to find a balance between learning and leisure as part of being responsible citizens.
She pointed out that the project was their starting point as it carried part of their final mark.
Project coordinator and DVS senior teacher Mr Dimpho Khutsafalo said the project did not only promote teamwork but instilled the spirit of volunteerism and how to give back to the school as a form of social responsibility.
He said each learner contributed P20 as start-up capital, designed and circulated donation sheets to raise funds and organised a back-to-school event for the project.
Giving a vote of thanks, deputy school head, Mr Omphemetse Maitshoko expressed gratitude to other stakeholders such as Basadi ba Dignity and Young Women in Christ organisations. Ends
